In My Mailbox is a weekly event hosted by Kristi over at The Story Siren. She uses this time to tell about the books she receives each week either to review, from the library, or from a purchase. Kristi is kind enough to let us all in on her fun and here is my little piece of that!

Weekly/Lately Recap:

I'll be interested to hear what you think about Pretty Crooked. Not gonna lie...I didn't like it. At all. Ludwig's writing is fantastic, but the way she dealt with some of the subject matter was highly inappropriate IMHO.
ReplyDeleteAwesome books! I have Pretty Crooked but haven't read it yet ... I'm interested to see if I like it, since there have been a lot of mixed reviews! Dark Kiss looks really good ... I've been thinking of requesting it, but have to get through my other review books first! Oooh, and The Hunt -- that one looks great!
ReplyDeleteHappy reading!
Incarnate sounds really, really good to me!
ReplyDeleteGreat haul of books. I hope you love them all. Come visit me as well.
ReplyDeleteGrace
Awesome books! I really want to read Pink Smog. I've only read the first Weetzie book, but know that I'm going to have to read all the rest. I hope you enjoy that awesome pile of stories :-)
ReplyDeleteSo many books to be jealous of! The Summer of No Regrets, While He Was Away... Ahhh!!! lol. Pretty Crooked was really awesome. I haven't read Deadly Cool series yet but am going too and hopefully soon :) Great haul!

ReplyDeleteI LOVED Incarnate and Dark Kiss. Pretty Crooked looks cute. I've been dying to start The Hunt. I have it but haven't had time yet. Blackbirds looks really interesting. Happy reading!

Oh yes Blackbirds is to die for. I just had to order it which I did about 6 months ago. I should be getting it soon :)
ReplyDeleteOMG, that is the Angry Robot SLAP DOWN of YA covers with faceless girls in gowns. I HOPE OTHER PUBLISHERS ARE WATCHING.
ReplyDeleteI've been hearing good things about Gemma Halliday's books! I hope you enjoy all your new reads.
ReplyDeleteLOOK AT THAT TOWER OF AWESOME BOOKS! For reals, I am jealous a little.
ReplyDeleteALSO YAY NETGALLEY! I rocked that noise too and am so pumped about While He Was Away and Blackwood!

My IMM for this week - http://paulettespapers.com/?p=1934
That Ashen winter Cover totally creeps me out. everytime I see it. I have to read his first book. I have been meaning to get it.
ReplyDeleteWhile He Was Away by Karen Schreck
The Summer of No Regrets by Katherine Grace Bond
those two look pretty good. From the covers at least. I'm loving these kinds of reads. yay contemp!
oh and that black bird cover is pretty darn creepy too.
The fact that the Lost Colony of Roanoke is practically your backyard is so awesome! I actually have to read up on it, I honestly hadn't heard about it before. I had to physically restrain myself from requesting Blackbirds, because I am SO excited for it, but I have so many ARCs atm, I'd rather wait and check it out from the library and not feel obligations hanging over my head. I want to hear your thoughts on Incarnate (a book I'm still on the fence about), and I'm excited to hear more about The Hunt which looks totally intriguing. Happy reading friend!
ReplyDeleteWow that cover for Blackbirds is killer. Off to see what it is all about. Happy reading!!
ReplyDeleteAwesome haul! You have a TON of reading to do :) I added While He was Away to my wishlist. It sounds really interesting. I hope you'll drop by and see what I got in my mailbox this week.
ReplyDeleteOoh, Elisa Ludwig is coming here on the 20th. I really want to read PRETTY CROOKED this week! INCARNATE is my favorite book of 2012 so far! Enjoy everything!
ReplyDeleteHUNT! Hunt, Hunt, Hunt!!! >_< I WANT IT! XD
ReplyDeleteHappy Reading!

ReplyDeleteWendy @ The Midnight Garden
Dang! You got all sorts of goodies in your mailbox!! I'm especially envious of Incarnate and The Hunt - I can't wait to see your reviews on them!
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy HarperTeen is sending you books now! I remember the conversation we had awhile back :) That Blackbirds cover! I will be checking out that book! It's on Netgalley? I must have missed it.
ReplyDeleteOoh I really want to read Pink Smog! I loved the Weetzie Bat books growing up. Actually, I loved anything by Francesca Lia Block. Her books were magical and really spoke to me- even though they address hard subjects. Even as a bonafide grown-up I'm still reading Francesca Lia Block and loving it.
